The Client
Our client is an independently owned, private investment firm and fund manager. With a core focus on providing Alternative Capital to Australian real estate developers, our client offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deal Originator with a background in property finance to join a highly regarded, and expert leading investment team.

The Role
As a director in the organisation you will work closely with the senior management team in developing and executing complex debt financings in a fund management environment.

You demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex credit and business concepts and can build relationships with other participants on transactions to achieve a negotiated outcome. You are a self-starter with outstanding project management skills who enjoys solving complex problems within a transaction.

Your desire to take ownership of and develop a client base and projects will greatly assist with your success in this role.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Building deep and commercially rewarding relationships in the market focusing on a network of potential deal sources for both your role in the Australian Real Estate Credit market and the broader team;
  • Identifying new lending arrangement opportunities in the Eastern Seaboard of Australia;
  • Leading complex projects through managing the various parties to transactions, including investors and associated professionals;
  • Directing and assessing quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data involved in each transaction, including reviewing feasibility studies, market analyses, financial projections and Information Memorandums, legal documents and debt term sheets;
  • Writing, communicating, facilitating, and presenting to and/or for all levels of audiences at targets, clients, funders and the team;
  • Building deep and respectful relationships with team members, fostering a productive teamwork environment, leveraging diverse views, and helping to develop and grow team members;
  • Multi-tasking and balancing time effectively, keeping a rapid pace without sacrificing quality;
  • Actively participate in the management and strategic growth of the business;
  • In addition to the duties set out above you will be required to perform any duties incidental to the position, as directed including incidental clerical and administrative duties;
To be considered for this role, you need to possess the following attributes:
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in property finance and/or non-bank direct property;
  • Experience in stakeholder management;
  • Ability to work in a team environment; and
  • Have completed a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance, commerce or related fields)
  • Experience as a fund manager or in a fund management environment is desirable but not essential.
