Financial Accountant - Acquisition & Finance Integration

Our client

A long-established Australian retail and manufacturing business is entering an exciting new chapter following a recent acquisition. As part of this transformation, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to play a key role in integrating the acquired business into a larger existing group.
This is a rare opportunity to work inside a live acquisition, partnering closely with the Head of Finance Transformation to deliver systems, process, and control uplift across a complex manufacturing and retail environment.

The opportunity

You will be embedded in the business for a defined 12-month period, working across both pre- and post-completion activities to stabilise operations, uplift capability, and align the acquired business with Group standards.
Key responsibilities
  • Support pre-completion and transition activities, including payroll and systems preparation
  • Assist with the migration of the acquired business into ERP system
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations pre- and post-acquisition
  • Document existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support manufacturing and retail WIP, job costing, BOM accuracy, and inventory processes
  • Assist with year-end processing, journals, reporting, and financial statements
  • Strengthen financial controls and support internal and external audit readiness
  • Work collaboratively with the existing finance team to provide additional capacity and uplift capability
About you
  • Degree in Accounting with CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, audit, or tax
  • Background in Big 4 audit or tax, or strong industry experience with systems or transformation exposure
  • Comfortable working in change, ambiguity, and fast-paced environments
  • Strong Excel skills and solid technical accounting foundations
  • Exposure to post-acquisition integration, systems implementations, manufacturing, inventory, or WIP will be highly regarded
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport required
Why join?
  • Rare opportunity to be involved in a live acquisition and integration from inside the business
  • Broad, hands-on role with real ownership and visibility
  • Exposure to finance transformation, systems, operations, and controls
  • Collaborative, down-to-earth culture with a supportive finance team
  • Ideal role to accelerate your transition from advisory into industry, or to broaden your commercial experience
