Senior Accountant

We’re partnering with a large, well-established retail business to recruit a Senior Accountant on an initial 12-month contract. Based in Richmond, this role sits within a collaborative, high-performing finance team and works closely with both local leadership and head office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Senior Accountant seeking a broad, hands-on role with strong stakeholder exposure in a fast-paced retail environment.

The Role
Reporting into the local finance leadership team and working closely with both local stakeholders and head office, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial integrity, reporting and commercial insight of the business. Key responsibilities include:

Month-End & Financial Reporting
  • Assist with and review month-end close and reporting for head office
  • Prepare and review month-end balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
  • Review monthly cost centres to ensure completeness and accuracy of costs
  • Prepare monthly finance reporting files to support management reporting
Sales & Performance Reporting
  • Provide Day 1 sales updates to the CEO
  • Prepare monthly sales reporting for internal sales and performance meetings
Payments, Tax & Controls
  • Review payments and approve supplier invoices in line with internal controls
  • Review GST and support compliance with statutory reporting requirements
  • Review intercompany invoicing for accuracy and alignment with group policies
  • Manage new vendor set-up within Navision
Budgeting, Cashflow & Treasury
  • Prepare quarterly budget files and upload into the budgeting tool
  • Prepare quarterly reporting for submission to the head office treasury team
  • Prepare and maintain monthly cashflow forecasts
Stakeholder & Ad-Hoc Support
  • Investigate and respond to ad-hoc financial queries from head office, local management and business units
About You
  • CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
  • Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role
  • Strong month-end, balance sheet and financial reporting capability
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and head office teams
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and able to work autonomously
