Accounts Payable

About the Client
Our client is a high-growth Australian business entering an exciting new phase of expansion. With strong backing, a clear strategic vision, and a focus on building capability and commercial insight, the company is investing heavily in its systems, processes, and financial infrastructure to support the next stage of its evolution. As the business transitions its finance systems from Xero to Pronto, they’re seeking a capable Accounts Payable Officer to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations while supporting system improvements and process efficiency.

What’s on Offer
  • Temporary-to-permanent opportunity with an immediate start
  • Work directly with senior leaders in a close-knit finance team
  • Competitive hourly rate of $35–$40 per hour + Super (depending on experience)
  • Strong potential for permanency
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role suits an experienced Accounts Payable Officer who enjoys variety, collaboration and autonomy. You’ll manage end-to-end AP functions, assist with month-end close, and play an active role in the transition from Xero to Pronto.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable including PO creation, invoice matching and approvals
  • Support the implementation of Pronto and related process improvement projects
  • Maintain approval trees and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and assist with month-end close activities
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve payment queries and system anomalies
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Accountant, Financial Controller and external bookkeeper to ensure accurate, timely financial operations
About You
You’re a capable, detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a small, fast-paced environment. You’re confident juggling competing priorities, building relationships across teams, and improving processes as the business evolves.
  • Demonstrated Accounts Payable experience within a small or medium-sized business
  • Experience with Xero and/or Pronto (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and initiative in problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills across finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Adaptable, proactive and team-focused mindset
