Assistant Accountant

The Business

Atlas Partners is excited to be partnering with a fast-paced and values-driven business known for its innovation and strong market presence. Due to ongoing growth and continuous improvement initiatives, they are seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join their finance team based in the South Eastern Suburbs and contribute to enhancing the business’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead accounts payable and receivable processes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the month-end cycle, ensuring tasks are completed within 6 days of month-end close.
  • Manage general ledger reconciliations, journal entries (including payroll and accruals), and balance sheet reporting.
  • Improve fixed asset accounting and oversee intercompany transactions.
  • Continuously review and improve transactional processes and systems for efficiency and automation.
  • Prepare weekly sales and profit reporting and assist with ad hoc financial reports.

About You
  • 1–2 years' experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or transactional finance role
  • Relevant finance or accounting qualification (CA/CPA aspirations highly regarded)
  • Proficient in MS Excel (intermediate–advanced) and ideally experienced with NetSuite
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities
