About the Role
The Assistant Accountant will work closely with the Finance Business Partner to deliver timely and accurate reporting, support payroll processes, and ensure the integrity of key balance sheet accounts. This is a hands-on and varied role that also involves liaising with key internal stakeholders and contributing to ongoing improvements in financial operations and systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Reconcile all operating bank accounts weekly
· Assist in preparing monthly cost trackers and support month-end reporting
· Complete balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies
· Upload and post fortnightly and month-end payroll journals
· Act as administrator for Concur, Airwallex, and Uber for Business
· Manage and reconcile employee expenses and company credit card claims
· Assist with group reporting and ensure tax compliance in collaboration with the Financial Accountant
· Support the year-end audit process and assist with ad hoc projects and requests
About You
· Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
· 1–3 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
· Proficient in bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end processes
· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Experience working with finance systems (e.g. NetSuite, Concur, Airwallex) is advantageous
· A team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
