My client is a highly regarded education body that takes great confidence in its wonderful history of exceptional results and contemporary methods. A leading player in their field coupled with ambitious growth plans for 2025, they are now looking to bolster their finance function with a Finance Business Partner to advise and lead a number of schools in Melbourne’s inner North/East.

The opportunity

An exciting and autonomous role where you will work closely with non-financial stakeholders to influence strategy and planning. It's critical for you to have the drive and experience to implement significant changes, advise on strategic business planning and manage underperforming entities.

The role in summary

• Lead and advise your school stakeholders - have full oversight of finance activities and drive significant change
• You will be responsible for the advisory and consultation of all day-to-day management of the finance function
• Strategically build a road map for change and processing enhancement with the independent leaders
• Prepare annual budget, forecasts and manage cashflow
• Monthly analysis of budget to actual and action any remedies
• Coordinate and develop strategic plan in relation to buildings and facilities in alignment with the school’s master and maintenance plans.
• Develop and analyse school fee structures and advise options various stakeholders
• School advisory board financial presentation of finances and finance proposals as determined
• Oversee the annual audit and all external audit requirements
• Develop and monitor approved capital budgets

  
About you

• You are a qualified accountant CA or CPA (or equivalent)
• Education, Schools or Government experience coming from a Chartered background will be an advantage
• Be a results-oriented finance executive working in a similar capacity elsewhere
• Be able to demonstrate a track record of adding value to an executive team from a financial and commercial perspective, and success in improving processes, systems and reporting to support a growing business with sophisticated reporting and compliance requirements
• Managed and developed a finance team - with a particular focus on developing the analytical and value add aspects of finance
