This permanent Financial Accountant position will form part of a high-performing finance team, focused on delivering accurate and timely financial reporting in line with public sector and statutory requirements. The role plays a key part in supporting month-end and year-end close processes, maintaining balance sheet integrity, preparing external submissions and contributing to financial improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-end and year-end close, including journal preparation and review
- Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
- Support the preparation of annual financial statements and external compliance reporting
- Monitor and reconcile revenue streams in accordance with funding agreements
- Engage with internal stakeholders to provide financial insight and reporting support
- Assist with continuous improvement projects and financial process enhancements
- Liaise with external auditors, government bodies and funding partners as needed
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or related field
- CA/CPA qualified (or working toward completion)
- Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience with month-end processes and reconciliations
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
- Proficiency with Excel and experience in ERP systems
- Advantageous: experience in the public sector, healthcare, or other complex, compliance-focused environments
