Reporting to the Financial Controller (Agriculture Division) and working closely with the CFO, this is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for variety, ownership and exposure across multiple entities. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities while assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliations and compliance.

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities while assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliations and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
- Process receipts, payments and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and lodge BAS statements
- Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
- Support the Financial Controller with month-end reporting and journals
- Assist with cashflow and balance sheet reconciliations
- Contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives
- Provide general accounting support to operational teams across divisions
You’re an experienced finance professional who enjoys hands-on accounting and working across a variety of business activities. You take initiative, ask the right questions and add value beyond day-to-day processing.
You’ll thrive in a supportive, fast-paced environment and feel comfortable working across both office and site-based settings.
- Must be able to commute regularly between Southbank and Wyndham
- 5–6 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or Finance Officer role
- Strong transactional accounting experience (AP, AR, BAS, reconciliations)
- Solid Excel and accounting system skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- High attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Adaptable and down-to-earth with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Comfortable working in a traditional or industrial-style environment
- Open to candidates currently studying towards, or planning to commence, their CPA qualification
