A well-established FMCG group based in Hawthorn is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team on an initial 12-month contract.

This is a hands-on Senior Accountant role with end-to-end ownership of month-end, combined with exposure to reporting, compliance, budgeting, business partnering, and analytical work. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with the business in a fast-paced FMCG environment while contributing to continuous improvement across finance processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
• Preparing monthly management reports with commentary and variance analysis
• Maintaining accurate balance sheet reconciliations and integrity
• Supporting statutory compliance requirements, including BAS and other regulatory obligations
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and reforecast cycles
• Partnering with non-finance stakeholders to support cost control and performance insights
• Delivering financial analysis to support business decisions and ad hoc projects
• Supporting year-end reporting and audit processes alongside external advisors
• Contributing to improvements in reporting, processes, and internal controls

What We’re Looking For

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion)
• Strong experience across month-end accounting and management reporting
• Background in FMCG, consumer, retail, or similarly fast-paced industries
• Comfortable working across accounting, compliance, budgeting, and analysis
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders
• High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
