Investment Associate

The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen to join a sophisticated private investment group specialising in mining, resources and critical minerals. This role offers genuine end-to-end exposure across the investment lifecycle, working closely with an experienced investment team with backgrounds spanning global mining majors and top-tier financial institutions.
As an Investment Associate, you will be actively involved in sourcing, analysing, executing and managing investments across both private and public markets, with exposure to assets ranging from early-stage exploration through to operating producers.

About the Business
Our client is a private investment group with a long-term, value-driven approach to investing in the resources sector. The group deploys capital across a diversified portfolio of mining, industrial and resource-focused assets, supporting projects from early-stage development through to full-scale production.
The team combines strong technical capability with sophisticated commercial insight and partners closely with management teams and industry specialists to unlock long-term value across its portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build detailed financial models, valuations and scenario analyses for prospective investments
  • Conduct commercial, financial and technical due diligence across commodities, companies and projects
  • Assess opportunities across the full mining lifecycle, from exploration to production
  • Prepare high-quality investment papers and recommendations
  • Collaborate closely with senior investment professionals, technical experts and external advisers
  • Monitor portfolio assets and identify opportunities for optimisation and value creation
About You
  • 5+ years’ experience in corporate finance, M&A, equity research, investment banking or a related role within mining and resources
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation capability
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to synthesise complex information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Geology or a related discipline
Why Join
  • Direct exposure to high-impact mining investments across private and public markets
  • End-to-end deal involvement rather than a narrow execution role
  • Work alongside a highly experienced, intellectually curious investment team
  • Be part of a growing investment platform backed by long-term patient capital
