Senior Bookkeeper

Atlas Partners are proud to be partnering exclusively with a well-established, family-owned business in Melbourne's South Eastern Suburbs to find an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their close-knit team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Our client operates across international trading, property management, and family office functions a dynamic and varied business with a strong track record and a reputation built on operational excellence and trusted relationships.

About the Role
This is a broad, hands-on position offering genuine ownership of the business's full financial operations. You'll work with a high degree of autonomy, managing everything from day-to-day bookkeeping through to management reporting, compliance, and family office support all while being a trusted partner to the business owner and external accountants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weekly cash flow reporting and preparation of management accounts
  • Margin and financial analysis as required
  • Bank and credit card processing and reconciliations
  • Overseeing international trading AP and AR processes
  • Processing weekly and monthly payroll cycles and annual STP reconciliation
  • Management of PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax reporting and payments
  • Quarterly BAS and IAS lodgements
  • Annual FBT return data preparation and financial accounts preparation for external accountant
  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals
  • Manage annual audit and customer-required external reportin
  • Rental property management across various properties
  • Broader family office financial support
About You
  • Proven experience in a senior bookkeeping or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax and compliance (BAS, PAYG, super, payroll tax, STP)
  • Experience with end-to-end bookkeeping and management reporting
  • Background in a small-to-medium, family-owned business environment
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with external accountants and stakeholders
  • Proficient in Xero, MYOB or similar, and Microsoft Excel
