The Opportunity
We're partnering exclusively with a leading Melbourne-based construction group to find an experienced Accounts Payable Officer ready to take ownership of a high-volume, end-to-end AP function.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll be the engine behind the AP function across multiple entities within the group. This isn't just processing invoices you'll be a key player in compliance, subcontractor management, process improvement, and stakeholder relationships.

Day-to-day you'll be responsible for:
  • Managing full-cycle accounts payable from invoice authorisation and coding through to timely creditor payments (fortnightly and monthly)
  • Maintaining invoice processing systems and ensuring data integrity
  • Managing subcontractor records insurances, compliance documentation, bonds, and bank guarantees
  • Preparing and lodging the Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) with the ATO
  • Reconciling corporate credit cards and ensuring correct GST treatment
  • Performing monthly supplier statement reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end close processes and year-end audit requirements
  • Identifying and driving process improvements across the payables function
About You
You're a detail-oriented AP professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping things accurate and on time.

You'll bring:
  • Minimum 3 years of end-to-end accounts payable experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset
  • Confidence working across multiple entities and systems simultaneously
  • Experience in the construction or property development industry
  • Adaptability and self-motivation in a changing environment
