Senior Accountant

We’re partnering with a market-leading FMCG business to recruit a Senior Accountant on an initial 12-month contract.

Based in Richmond, this role sits within a collaborative, high-performing finance team and offers broad exposure across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and senior stakeholder engagement. The business operates a hybrid working model (2 days from home) and is known for its down-to-earth, high-trust culture, where people are empowered to take ownership and make an impact.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Senior Accountant who enjoys variety, visibility and working closely with the business in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

The Role
Reporting into the local finance leadership team and working closely with both head office and senior local stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, commercial insights and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and management reporting
  • Own budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and performance insights
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to provide commercial analysis and decision support
  • Prepare product sales forecasts and scenario modelling to support portfolio planning and strategy
  • Deliver clear financial insights, risks and opportunities to local leadership and head office
  • Manage cashflow, working capital reporting and treasury-related submissions
  • Oversee tax compliance requirements including BAS, FBT and statutory reporting
  • Act as the finance owner for expense management processes, ensuring policy compliance and system integrity
  • Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with auditors
  • Review and improve financial processes, controls and reporting to drive efficiency and accuracy
About You
  • CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
  • Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role
  • Strong month-end, balance sheet and financial reporting capability
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and comfortable working autonomously
