Senior Financial Accountant (Part Time)

The Opportunity

A privately owned property development business is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support the Director across a portfolio of residential development entities and associated interests.
This is a hands-on accounting role with responsibility for day-to-day financial accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, and general business support. The role also includes Executive Assistant and office administration responsibilities, working closely with the Director to ensure both business and personal matters run smoothly.

This is a part-time position (3 days per week), with flexible hours that can be adjusted to suit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting
  • Day-to-day financial accounting across multiple entities using Xero
  • Bank reconciliations across business and trust structures
  • Accounts payable and receivable, including director expense reconciliations
  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS
  • Payroll processing for 4–6 staff, including leave approvals and ATO reporting
  • Liaising with external accountants on tax, ASIC, and compliance matters
Reporting
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Cash flow forecasting and budget preparation
  • Preparation of balance sheets and profit & loss statements
  • Coordinating information for periodic finance meetings
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and reports extracted from Xero
Director & Business Support
  • Providing Executive Assistant support to the Director as required
  • Managing landholdings including leases, property management agreements, and insurances
  • Preparing correspondence and organising documents for review and signing
Office & Operational Support
  • General office administration and operational support
  • Supporting the Development Manager with project finance filing
  • Managing property portfolio rent rolls and related documentation
  • Maintaining corporate, finance, and project records
  • Coordinating IT, office suppliers, and day-to-day office requirements
About You
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Experience in financial accounting or senior bookkeeping roles
  • Comfortable working across multiple entities and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Able to work autonomously in a part-time role
  • Professional, discreet, and reliable
