About the Opportunity
Following a recent acquisition, this established Victorian retail and manufacturing business is entering a critical integration phase. With tighter reporting deadlines and higher group expectations now in place, they are seeking a confident, hands-on finance leader to stabilise and strengthen the day-to-day finance function.
This is a 12-month fixed term role with a clear mandate:
Run BAU effectively. Lift standards. Improve inventory processes. Leave the function stronger than you found it.
The Role
You will take ownership of the operational finance function, leading a small team and partnering closely with senior finance leadership to improve processes and support broader transformation initiatives.

The Role
You will take ownership of the operational finance function, leading a small team and partnering closely with senior finance leadership to improve processes and support broader transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead day-to-day finance operations (AP, AR, cash, reconciliations, accruals, payroll tax, BAS)
- Drive disciplined month-end reporting and tighter deadlines
- Strengthen financial controls, documentation, and governance
- Support and embed improved inventory management processes across a substantial stock base
- Improve stocktake routines and accuracy
- Collaborate closely with the broader finance team
- Support ongoing use and optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Identify process gaps and implement practical improvements
- Coach and lift capability within the existing finance team

You bring:
- CA/CPA-qualification
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager role
- Strong hands-on operational finance capability
- Experience in inventory-heavy retail or manufacturing environments
- A proactive, “get it done” mindset
- Confidence improving processes without perfect information
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ideal)
- Strong Excel capability; Power BI exposure advantageous
