About the Opportunity

Following a recent acquisition, this established Victorian retail and manufacturing business is entering a critical integration phase. With tighter reporting deadlines and higher group expectations now in place, they are seeking a confident, hands-on finance leader to stabilise and strengthen the day-to-day finance function.

This is a 12-month fixed term role with a clear mandate:
Run BAU effectively. Lift standards. Improve inventory processes. Leave the function stronger than you found it.

The Role

You will take ownership of the operational finance function, leading a small team and partnering closely with senior finance leadership to improve processes and support broader transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:

• Lead day-to-day finance operations (AP, AR, cash, reconciliations, accruals, payroll tax, BAS)
• Drive disciplined month-end reporting and tighter deadlines
• Strengthen financial controls, documentation, and governance
• Support and embed improved inventory management processes across a substantial stock base
• Improve stocktake routines and accuracy
• Collaborate closely with the broader finance team
• Support ongoing use and optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Identify process gaps and implement practical improvements
• Coach and lift capability within the existing finance team

About You

You’re not fazed by ambiguity. You’re comfortable walking into a function that needs tightening up and seeing that as opportunity rather than risk.
You bring:

• CA/CPA-qualification
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager role
• Strong hands-on operational finance capability
• Experience in inventory-heavy retail or manufacturing environments
• A proactive, “get it done” mindset
• Confidence improving processes without perfect information
• Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ideal)
• Strong Excel capability; Power BI exposure advantageous
