Senior Financial Accountant

We’re partnering with a highly regarded Australian property and investment group with a long track record of delivering some of Australia’s most prominent and complex projects.

This is an opportunity to join a large, well-resourced finance function with strong leadership, depth of expertise and genuine long-term career progression. The business invests heavily in its people and offers exposure to sophisticated group structures, high-value assets and meaningful projects that shape Australia’s built environment.

The Opportunity

As part of a high-performing finance team, you’ll work alongside experienced finance leaders and external advisors, gaining exposure well beyond a typical Senior Accountant role.
You’ll be involved in group accounting, tax and compliance across a diverse portfolio, while also contributing to major projects, system improvements and process enhancements. This role offers clear pathways for development, both technically and into broader leadership or specialist roles over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end tax compliance across the group, including BAS, IAS, FBT, TPAR and income tax obligations
  • Lead coordination of the year-end audit process for a large consolidated group, acting as the key liaison with external auditors and advisors
  • Own the preparation and review of year-end working papers, reconciliations and balance sheet integrity across the group
  • Oversee the delivery of monthly and quarterly management reporting, ensuring accuracy and insight for stakeholders
  • Partner with external advisors on GST consolidation matters and broader indirect tax issues
  • Oversee payroll tax and land tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Contribute to group tax forecasting, planning and structural initiatives, providing commercial input and technical insight
  • Lead the financial oversight of special projects, including entity setup, governance frameworks and reporting requirements
  • Support the development of group budgets and management of overheads in partnership with senior stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and documentation, with a focus on scalability and efficiency
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, supporting their development and performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders and external advisors across the group
About You
  • CA or CPA qualified, or close to completion
  • Experience in financial accounting, tax and compliance
  • Exposure to complex group structures, property or investment experience highly regarded
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based finance environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a desire to keep learning and progressing
  • Could be a Senior or Manager looking for first move from a CA firm
Why Join This Business?
  • Join a large, established finance team with strong technical capability
  • Work on some of Australia’s leading property and investment projects
  • Clear and supported career progression pathways
  • High-quality finance leadership and external advisory exposure
  • Stable, long-term role in a well-capitalised and respected group
