Financial Accountant - Acquisition & Finance Integration
Our client
A long-established Australian retail and manufacturing business is entering an exciting new chapter following a recent acquisition. As part of this transformation, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to play a key role in integrating the acquired business into a larger existing group.
This is a rare opportunity to work inside a live acquisition, partnering closely with the Head of Finance Transformation to deliver systems, process, and control uplift across a complex manufacturing and retail environment.

You will be embedded in the business for a defined 12-month period, working across both pre- and post-completion activities to stabilise operations, uplift capability, and align the acquired business with Group standards.

As part of this transformation, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to play a key role in integrating the acquired business into a larger existing group.

The opportunity
You will be embedded in the business for a defined 12-month period, working across both pre- and post-completion activities to stabilise operations, uplift capability, and align the acquired business with Group standards.
Key responsibilities
- Support pre-completion and transition activities, including payroll and systems preparation
- Assist with the migration of the acquired business into ERP system
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations pre- and post-acquisition
- Document existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support manufacturing and retail WIP, job costing, BOM accuracy, and inventory processes
- Assist with year-end processing, journals, reporting, and financial statements
- Strengthen financial controls and support internal and external audit readiness
- Work collaboratively with the existing finance team to provide additional capacity and uplift capability
- Degree in Accounting with CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, audit, or tax
- Background in Big 4 audit or tax, or strong industry experience with systems or transformation exposure
- Comfortable working in change, ambiguity, and fast-paced environments
- Strong Excel skills and solid technical accounting foundations
- Exposure to post-acquisition integration, systems implementations, manufacturing, inventory, or WIP will be highly regarded
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport required
