The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to step into a highly visible role within a leading Australian university during a period of significant growth and transformation.
Reporting to the Deputy CFO, this role plays a critical part in shaping the organisation’s medium to long term financial outlook, with a strong focus on 5-year financial planning, board level reporting and strategic decision support. You will work closely with executive leadership and the Board, delivering robust, trusted financial insights that underpin confidence in the organisation’s strategic direction.

With major growth initiatives underway including expanding international student numbers, new academic offerings and upcoming ERP implementation, this role offers meaningful exposure to enterprise wide strategy, transformation projects and senior stakeholder engagement.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead medium term financial planning, including development of a robust 5-year financial outlook for Board and executive decision making
  • Prepare and present high quality Board and executive reporting, ensuring accuracy, clarity and confidence in financial and non financial information
  • Partner closely with the Deputy CFO and CFO on strategic initiatives, growth planning and major transformation projects
  • Stress test forecasts, funding assumptions and financial models, translating complex financial information for non finance stakeholders
The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
  • CA or CPA qualification with extensive experience in financial planning, reporting and analysis
  • Proven experience preparing Board level financial reports and presenting complex information to senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of funding models, legislative frameworks and their application within complex organisations
  • Advanced financial modelling and scenario planning capability, with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non finance audiences and build trusted stakeholder relationships
  • Experience within higher education or public sector environments, and exposure to large scale ERP or system implementations, will be highly regarded
